Scheme Launch and Purpose
The Maharashtra government launched the Ladli Behna Scheme to support financially unstable women in the state. The scheme provides a monthly financial assistance of INR 1500, directly transferred to the selected applicants’ bank accounts. Approximately 1 crore women are expected to benefit from this scheme, which aims to enhance their social status and improve their standard of living.
Objectives
The primary objective is to offer financial support to economically disadvantaged women in Maharashtra. According to Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Ajit Pawar, the scheme, formally known as Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin’s scheme, targets women aged 21 to 60 years. The monthly allowance ensures that these women do not have to rely on others for their daily expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
- Residency: Permanent resident of Maharashtra.
- Marital Status: Married, widowed, divorced, abandoned, and destitute women are eligible.
- Age: Between 21 and 65 years.
- Income: Family income must not exceed INR 2.5 lakh per annum.
- Aadhar Linkage: Aadhar card must be linked with the bank account.
Ineligibility
- Annual family income exceeding INR 2.5 lakh.
- Any family member being a taxpayer.
- Employment of family members in government sectors or their status as current/former MPs/MLAs.
- Ownership of a four-wheeler (except a tractor).

The application deadline has been extended to accommodate the high number of interested applicants, providing more time for women to apply.

- Apply: Select the Ladli Behna Scheme from the dashboard, fill in the required information, upload necessary documents, and submit.
Offline Application Process
Eligible women can also apply offline by visiting their Zilla Parishad:
- Collect Application Form: Obtain the form from the concerned official.
- Fill in Details: Complete the form with all required information and attach necessary documents.
- Submit: Review and submit the form back to the official before 31st August 2024.
